TiO2 cost substitution calculator
Select your current TiO2 grade, enter your landed price and annual volume, and see projected annual savings from switching to the SEMITI equivalent. Estimates use typical Asian-landed pricing for SEMITI grades.
How the math works
The savings calculation is straightforward: annual saving = (your price − SEMITI price) × annual volume × 1000 kg/t. Your input price is whatever you're paying landed; the SEMITI price is the typical Asian-landed range from our published pricing data.
For Chemours Ti-Pure, Tronox, and Kronos grades, the typical Asian-landed range is approximately 35–45% above the SEMITI equivalent. For Venator and Ishihara, the gap is similar. For LB Group direct purchases (without SEMITI trade structure), the price is similar to SEMITI but without our consolidated supply, technical support, or warehouse network.
The qualification payback estimate uses ~$50,000 as a typical qualification cost (lab work + pilot batch + technical validation). For most paint and plastic substitutions, payback period is < 12 weeks based on typical savings rates.
For premium qualifications (automotive OEM, pharmaceutical excipient), qualification costs can be 2–3x higher and timelines 12–16 weeks. The economic case still works but payback is slower.
