Typical volume
200–2000 t/year per tire OEM
Qualification cycle
8–12 weeks
Business context
Tire manufacturers — Michelin, Bridgestone, Goodyear, Pirelli, Continental, Hankook, Kumho — use TiO2 only in the decorative white sidewall stripe (not in tread or carcass). Anatase is preferred for crystal hardness and aesthetic undertone.
Procurement challenges
- 01Banbury mixer rotor wear (high-volume tire compounding)
- 02Color match across global tire production
- 03OEM tire program qualification
- 04Cost-down on commodity components
What SEMITI brings
SEMITI A200 specifically for tire sidewall. Direct alternative to Ishihara TIPAQUE A-100 — same crystal hardness, similar particle size, lower delivered cost.

Common questions
Is SEMITI A200 used in tire treads?+
No — tire tread uses carbon black (or silica for fuel-efficient tires) for reinforcement. TiO2 only appears in the white decorative sidewall.
