Production Capacity & Supplier Network
SEMITI sources from China's tier-1 TiO2 producer network — LB Group as primary supplier plus four secondary tier-1 producers.
SEMITI is a trade-and-distribution operation of Shanghai Semitech New Material Co., Ltd. We do not operate our own kilns. The Chinese TiO2 industry produces over 4 million tons annually — more than half of global supply — concentrated in a handful of tier-1 producers. Our role is to package the technical and commercial relationship between these producers and global export buyers.
Primary supplier: LB Group
Longbai Group (formerly Henan Billions) is the world's largest single TiO2 producer with approximately 1.5 million tons of capacity. LB operates both chloride (premium grades) and sulfate (cost-optimized grades) production routes at multiple sites in central China. The company is publicly traded and operates within standard international quality and regulatory frameworks (REACH-registered, FDA-compliant, IMDS-compliant for automotive supply).
Our SEMITI 996 (universal chloride rutile), SEMITI 298 (universal sulfate rutile), and most of our chloride premium grades source from the LB Group production family.
Secondary tier-1 producers in our network:
- CNNC Huayuan (中核华原钛白) — major sulfate-process producer, approximately 300,000 t/year capacity. Source for SEMITI A100, A101, A200 anatase grades.
- Pangang Group (攀钢钛业) — chloride producer at Panzhihua (world's largest titanium mining region), approximately 250,000 t/year. Backup supplier for chloride rutile.
- Shandong Doguide (山东道恩) — specialty TiO2 production. Source for some specialty surface-treatment grades.
- Other regional tier-1 — selected partnerships for specific grade types.
Why a multi-supplier network?
Single-source dependency creates supply continuity risk. Each of our SKUs has at least one designated primary supplier and at least one secondary supplier qualified for the same specification. If LB Group has a planned maintenance outage, we can route orders to the secondary supplier without interrupting customer delivery.
Safety stock:
We maintain safety stock for top-volume SKUs (SEMITI 996, 902, A100, 2310, 298) at consolidation warehouses in Shanghai and Qingdao. Typical safety stock equals 4–8 weeks of expected order volume. This enables 5–7 day production-to-ship turnaround for established orders.
Capacity availability:
For new customer orders or order increases, we can typically commit to: - 1 FCL (18–20 t) — same-week shipment for stocked grades - 5 FCL (90–100 t) — 2-week production lead time - Multi-month contract supply (1000+ t) — negotiated commitment
For custom surface treatment or specific batch requirements, lead times extend 4–8 weeks.
Quality consistency across producer family:
Our grade-specific quality control ensures that material sourced from primary or secondary supplier meets the same SEMITI specification. We perform incoming QC at consolidation warehouses on every batch before customer shipment.
The relationships we have with Chinese tier-1 TiO2 producers reflect over a decade of trade history through the Shanghai Semitech New Material parent company. This continuity matters in commodity trade — established relationships translate to priority allocation during capacity-tight periods and consistent pricing during volatile markets.
